Volunteer drivers are oftgen welcomed and much neede by charities to take elderly people or ill people to medical appointments or day centres. Cancer charities are often keen to take on drivers who can transport patients who are recieving treatment and take away the stress of driving or taking public transport.
Some charities also require drivers to collect donated goods. Picking up people’s donations and taking them to retail units is a good way to give back to society.
If you are a pet lover, why not volunteer to transport animals to and from pet rescue centres? There are lots of animal charities who rehome animals every day and could do with the help to get the animals to their proper homes.
If you do not drive a car, do not fear, there is still a volunteer opportunity for you! Bike couriers are often used to transport valuable itmes such as blood and medical supplies to local hospitals, taking advantage of the ability to weave between traffic jams!
